1. Coconut Smoothing Homemade Hair Mask

To make this homemade hair straightening mask, you just new a few simple ingredients that you might already have at home. And if you don’t, they’re easy to find at your local supermarket.

You’ll need:

Meat from half of a fresh coconut

1 tablespoon oats

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup milk

How to make it:

1. Add every ingredient except for the cornstarch into your food processor. Chop finely and then use a sifter to finish it off.

2. Add a little water to the cornstarch and heat it just so it boils.

3. Once the cornstarch and water mixture boils, add the sifted ingredients and mix well until it forms a paste.

4. Apply the paste to your hair starting at the ends first and then working your way up to the roots.

5. Cover your head with a shower cap. Plastic wrap or foil works as well if you don’t have one.

6. Leave this homemade hair straightening mask on your hair for 30 minutes and then wash as usual.

2. Fruit & Honey Straightening Mask

We love honey because it has so many heavenly benefits for the body. It’s full of antioxidants and fruit is too. This is a winning combination for healthier and straighter hair that eliminates frizz too. Plus, this homemade hair straightening mask smells divine!

You’ll need:

5 tablespoons pure, raw organic honey

1 1/2 bananas

2 oranges

How to make it:

1. Peel the bananas and then slice them.

2. Juice both oranges.

3. Add the bananas, the juice from the oranges and the honey into your blender.

4. Blend until smooth.

5. Wash and dry your hair as you normally would and then add this mask to your hair.

6. Leave it in for an hour, then wash your hair again as usual.

3. Milk Homemade Hair Straightening Mask

Remember those old commercials that said, “Milk does a body good?” Well, it does your hair good too! This is the simplest remedy to get your hair straighter naturally on our list. You can probably go make it right now since you just need two ingredients which we’re betting are already in your kitchen.

You’ll need:

1 cup milk

1/2 cup of purified or distilled water

How to make it:

1. Put both ingredients into a clean spray bottle.

2. Shake it up.

3. Spray all over your hair.

4. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes, then use a towel to dry it.

5. Comb it through after towel drying and then wash and rinse as you would normally.

And finally, because we all know that sometimes a little body is a good thing, this one will help tame your hair so that it stays smooth and frizz-free. It won’t make it magically straight, but you will love the difference of softer, shinier and more manageable hair that shines. You’ll forgive the few waves you’ll have when they look this good!

1 cup coconut milk

2 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice
